A Glass of Water and a Gun!? Ready for Today’s Mystery?🔎

+Yesterday's mystery revealed

Hi Detectives,

Yesterday, we kicked off with a brain-teasing puzzle that got many of you thinking! Before we dive into today’s content, let’s revisit yesterday’s challenge and the mystery solved...

🧩 Yesterday’s Mystery:

A man walks into a room, but no one sees him enter. The door is locked from the inside. How did he get in?

Some got it right, and many of you had fantastic guesses, but here’s the reveal: He entered through the window. 🪟

While it seems like “walking into a room” must involve a door, this puzzle reminded us that things aren’t always as they appear in the world of mystery. The man walked after entering through the window, locking the door behind him to create a classic locked-room scenario.

Great job to all our detectives who thought outside the box! Keep your creative thinking caps on—you’ll need them for what’s next!

Today’s Mystery: Something’s Not Adding Up! 🔫

Now that we’ve cleared up yesterday’s locked-room mystery, it’s time for a new one—this one’s got a twist that might leave you scratching your head!

A woman runs into a restaurant, orders a glass of water, and drinks it. The waiter pulls out a gun and points it at her. The woman thanks him and leaves. What happened? 😳💧

Got your theory ready? We’ll spill the answer in tomorrow’s email—until then, keep those detective hats on and see if you can figure out this puzzling interaction!

Detective Spotlight💡

We’ll highlight a standout detective from the Mystery Society community every week.

Today, we want to give a special shoutout to Detective Rich, who came up with a genuinely clever theory for yesterday’s puzzle.

"Walking into a room negates a window. The door is locked from the inside. If it's the front or back door, he could walk into any room. If he's alone, he would not be seen. Presumably the door in question leads to the room he walked into. The room in question must have another entrance from the outside. So he at least was outside the room. So, a balcony, patio. The only other way would be the door wasn't locked until he walked into the room and locked it himself. I'm going with that one. No one saw him enter, and there is no specifics as to when the door was locked."

Rich’s deduction skills were sharp! The idea of the door being locked after entry was really close to cracking the case. Kudos, Rich! 🎉 You’re officially in the Detective Spotlight!
